Electronic Storefronts Open Doors for Server Services
A new market is developing in business information centers as the number of commercial entities hooking into the Internet seek to establish a commercial presence for conducting electronic commerce.
Four companies now specialize in providing service for companies that want an Internet storefront but lack the expertise and resources to establish one. The major players are Cyberspace Development Inc., O'Reilly & Associates, the Internet Co. and Meckler Corp.

Cyberspace Development began creating electronic storefronts for companies in late 1993.
Currie, a software engineer, said he discovered the Internet while working at the Artificial Intelligence Lab at Martin Marietta Denver Aerospace in 1985. His partner is Bryan Griffin, a computer scientist who has been using the Internet since 1980.
